Fees

After the initial free hour of research and if an agreement to continue is reached, a contract between myself and the client will be drawn up and signed, prior to any additional work commencing.

My standard fees are £30 per hour, plus expenses.

Projects are usually approached in blocks of work, allowing the client to see the results and decide how to move forward. A budget limit is always agreed ahead of work commencing, and a 20% deposit is normally requested in advance.

 

There is a minimum charge of one hour's work for a single online look-up or record retrieval. Trips to archives are charged at a minimum of four hours work.

Fees cover the cost of time spent researching online and at archives as well as report writing. ​

Civil registration records, post-1858 probate records, document copying, photography permits and report printing and postage are charged to the client at cost.

Travel expenses are charged outside of the counties of Wiltshire and Hampshire and where possible will be charged at a reduced rate if they can be spread between clients.
 

Payment is usually made by​ online bank transfer and details will be supplied on your invoice.
